SDO Rizal joined the whole Calabarzon in conducting the Division training on the PPST-RPMS (Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers – Results Based Performance Management System).
The Division Training of Trainers held at Loreland Farm Resort, Antipolo City on July 17-20, 2018 was attended by Education Program Supervisors (EPS), Public Schools District Supervisors (PSDS) and selected secondary and elementary school heads.
The PPST-RPMS training capacitated the division trainers on the new RPMS manual, its processes and the various tools used in assessing the performance of teachers and prepared them for the training roll out to be participated in by all the teachers in SDO Rizal.
Ms. Viernalyn Nama, EPS of HRDD Calabarzon shared her session on the overview of PPST-RPMS stressing that the standards are embedded in the RPMS.
“Now, we can say that we have teacher-standards that will define what it means to be a Filipino teacher”, Ms. Nama stated.
Participants’ facebook posts reflected their “key take-aways” from the training.
One such post said “Mas madali siya ngayon kasi we don’t need to craft our own objectives and performance Indicators, may Rubrics na at higit sa lahat since this is based on standards teachers will be rated fairly and justly” This came from Ms. Judith F. Eullaran, School Head of Mahabang Parang National High School, Binangonan Rizal.
Another post from Ms. Susan Sacatrapos said “It was a busy day” referring to their task of going through and understanding the RPMS tools for Teachers I-III and Master Teachers I-IV.
Meanwhile, OIC-SDS, Mr. Christopher R. Diaz emphasized the importance of the training and reminded all to prioritize the immediate orientation of the PPST-RPMS with consideration on the “engaged time on task” policy.
He also assured the participants of the full support of his Office in conducting the roll out with teachers.
All of the said participants received a colored-printed copy of the PPST module and RPMS manual.
