This is to announce the celebration of the National Disaster Resilience Month 2019 with the theme: “KAHANDAAN SA SAKUNA’T PELIGRO PARA SA TUNAY NA PAGBABAGO” from July 1 to 31, 2019, in compliance to Executive Order No. 29 signed by the President of the Philippines which aims to increase the disaster resilience of every Filipino especially schools on natural and man-made hazards for a better appreciation of the government’s disaster preparedness programs.
In this regard, all schools are enjoined to conduct different activities relative to disaster risk reduction and management that will help the community and the school to have a safer and disaster resilient environment. Below are the suggested activities:
- DRRM Quiz Bee
- Poster and Slogan Making
- Essay Writing Contest
- Story Writing Contest
- Jingle Making Contest
- Canvass Painting Contest
- Bandaging and Transport of Patient Relay
- Fire Out Game
- Flotation Device Making (Group or Solo)
- Video-making Contest
- Hazard Mapping
- DRRM Symposium / Conference
- DRRM Training for Teachers, Students and other stakeholders
- Multi-hazard Drills
- Static Display of DRRM Best Practices
- Intensive Implementation of Standardized DRRM Team
Accomplishment/ activity report regarding the conduct of schools shall be submitted to District Coordinator for consolidation. All district consolidated reports shall be submitted to this office via District DRRM Google Drive on or before August 3, 2019 for submission to Regional Office.
